Government of Peru
The history of Peru's government has not been a smooth one. Throughout the centuries, the country has seen a variety of dictatorships, civilian governments, and coup d'etats, all adding to the instability of the country and its economy.
The current president of Peru is Alan Garcia, who also held the office from 1985 to 1990 and whose first term as head of the country was marked by much violence and economic strife. Nevertheless, things have changed and Peruvians hold out hope for the future of the country, hoping to continue see a reduction in things like terrorism and crime and an increase in tourism in this country that has much to offer.
