Lima

Situated on Peru's central Pacific coast, Lima is the capital city of this South American country as well as its largest urban area. Nicknamed “The City of the Kings”, Lima was established in 1535 and is today home to nearly 8 million residents.

The capital city is the financial center of Peru and home to more than two-thirds of the country's industry. Downtown Lima is also a premiere tourist area, full of cultural and arts-related attractions, including museums, theatres, and significant examples of colonial architecture. Lima is also home to 28 universities.

The gateway through which most visitors enter the country, Lima enjoys a mild climate with moderate temperatures but lots of humidity. Rainfall is nearly non-existent.
